WANTED SUSPECT APPREHENDED IN CONNECTION WITH MINOR

News Release

(Gwinnett County, Ga., July 17, 2024) – Investigators with the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Trafficking and Child Exploitation (TRACE) and Gang Units apprehended a suspect wanted in connection with the disappearance of a North Carolina minor. On July 3, TRACE and Gang investigators were contacted by the United States Marshals for assistance with locating a 14-year-old female. The suspect, Kevin Carcamo-Garcia, was reported to be engaged in a relationship with the minor and was taken into custody at his residence in Gwinnett County. Carcamo-Garcia admitted to illegally transporting the minor from North Carolina to Georgia. The minor was safely recovered and transferred to the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) where her mother was able to regain custody of her. Kevin Carcamo-Garcia faces charges of Statutory Rape and Child Molestation.
