(Gwinnett County, Ga., May 18, 2026) – On May 7, 2026, and May 8, 2026, the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office conducted a large-scale crime suppression operation known as Operation One Star. Sheriff’s Office deputies, in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies, launched this comprehensive initiative to increase law enforcement visibility and reduce criminal activity across Gwinnett County.
During the operation, 21 individuals were arrested. Law enforcement officials conducted 106 self-initiated encounters, resulting in 27 charges and the apprehension of 7 wanted persons. Officials also issued 45 citations, impounded 5 vehicles, recovered 1 stolen vehicle, and encountered 8 firearms.
The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office prioritizes public safety by addressing criminal activity while upholding the mission to serve and protect through dedication, professionalism, active cooperation with the community, and respect for human dignity.
GCSO extends its appreciation to the Lawrenceville Police Department, Suwanee Police Department, Snellville Police Department, and the Gwinnett County 911 Center for their collaborative efforts to help safeguard our community.
