GWINNETT COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS FORMER VETERANS ASSOCIATION QUARTERMASTER ON THEFT CHARGES

News Release

(Gwinnett County, Ga., June 2, 2026) – On May 29, 2026, the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Jail Intelligence Unit arrested William Schultz.


Investigators received information regarding potential misuse of funds belonging to the Central Gwinnett Veterans Association. At the time of the alleged offenses, Schultz served as the organization’s quartermaster, a position responsible for managing finances, paying bills, and making purchases on behalf of the association.


During the investigation, investigators determined that Schultz allegedly wrote four checks to himself, characterizing the transactions as loans, and took cash from association funds for personal use.


Schultz has been charged with four counts of Theft by Taking (Felony) and one count of Theft by Taking (Misdemeanor).
