FUGITIVE UNIT APPREHENDS SUSPECT WANTED ON TWO FELONY MURDER CHARGES

(Gwinnett County, Ga., August 7, 2024) – Investigators with the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit successfully apprehended David Shane Lancaster, who was wanted on two felony murder charges. On Monday, August 5, a surveillance operation was conducted in Atlanta, Georgia.


The Fugitive Unit observed Lancaster leaving an Atlanta residence at approximately 3 p.m. carrying a black backpack. Investigators followed Lancaster to a nearby dispensary and placed him under arrest. A subsequent search of the backpack revealed a black and silver Smith and Wesson handgun, 0.68 kilograms of crystal-like substance, and an electronic scale.


The substance was tested and confirmed to be Methamphetamine. All additional evidence was secured and transferred to the Sheriff's Office for further processing. David Shane Lancaster was taken to the Gwinnett County Jail, where he remains without bond.
