Welcome to the official website of the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office. With a population of nearly 1 million citizens, Gwinnett County is home to 16 municipalities and is located 30 miles Northeast of Atlanta. Our highly trained staff provides services county-wide while developing relationships with our citizens, government entities, local law enforcement, and mental health partners. Our mission is to serve and protect the citizens of Gwinnett County through dedication, professionalism, community engagement, and respect for human dignity.

    We have an Active Shooter scenario at GJAC on December 2, 2023, 7 am-12 pm open to the public. This multi-agency training event will include Lawrenceville Police, Gwinnett Police/SWAT, Gwinnett EOC, Gwinnett EMS/Fire Services, Georgia Gwinnett College Police, and Police Emergency Services 911.
