SCAM ALERT

  • Remain alert: Please disconnect calls received where the operator acts under the identity of law enforcement personnel regarding "legal matters," demanding forms of payment or personal information. Immediately report it to the Sheriff's Office directly at 770.619.6500.

  • A common script may go like this: "Hi ma'am this is [**Impersonated officer rank/name**] with the Gwinnett County Sheriff's office. I'm calling in regards to a very important legal matter. It does require your immediate attention. Please give us a call back at [**numbers varies + extension**]. Again this is [Impersonated name] and I can be reached at [** non-sheriff office number**] Thank you."

  • The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office will never call you to request funds of any amount to satisfy an arrest warrant.

  • The Sheriff’s Office wants to emphasize to all citizens that an approved bonding company will never call and ask to receive funds of any kind over the phone to complete the bonding process.

Inaugural Carl Goodbar Memorial Scholarship Ride

The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Big Dawg Chapter of the NAM Knights of America Motorcycle Club, is hosting the inaugural Carl Goodbar Memorial Scholarship Ride.

This event aims to raise scholarship funds for military veterans and children of law enforcement officers pursuing higher education. The ride will take place on Saturday, September 28, at American Legion Post 127,  located at 6196 Suwanee Dam Road in Sugar Hill. Registration opens at 9:00 am, with the ride starting at 10:15 am.

The entry fee is $25 for riders and $10 for passengers. At the conclusion of the ride, a raffle will take place. The event will last approximately two hours. For more information, visit GwinnettCountySheriff.org.
